Wow, it's been an extremely long time since my last family post. Anyway, today was a good day...
Last couple weeks we've all been really sick, so we spent a lot of time watching TV. The boys have gotten way too used to the television on. We have the computer hooked up to the computer, so they get on the internet and watch pretty much whatever they want on Netflix. So today I said no TV at all!!! Dun, dun, dun!!! I knew I was going to have to do some new activities with them so they could be distracted from the TV. They did ask to watch shows a lot, but overall they acted really well today, considering the withdrawal. So, we got up had breakfast, then did our morning "jobs," which are change into "big boy clothes," make our bed, read the picture Scripture Stories books, say personal prayers, say family prayers and brush our teeth. Then they get a "privilege," which is always to watch a show (usually Dora the Explorer, Word World or something similar.) But today we needed to return some books to the library. This was nice because some friends happened to be there for story time (which we missed) and they got to play together for a little while. (Parker missed the library for a nap at home with Dad.) Then we had lunch, played for a little while and Taylor went to bed. Isaac read me his preschool book and 2 B.O.B. books. (I love B.O.B. books, they are easy reads for Isaac.) He is really good at reading and he is pretty proud of it. He saw a picture of a preschool day he missed and wanted to make the Chinese lanterns that he wasn't able to make. Then I had to wake up Taylor, because if I don't he won't go to bed at night. Taylor cozied me, Isaac snuggled up to me while we read Chicken Little, the Little Red Hen and the Ugly Duckling. We picked up toys and then went out side to pain on the wall, really paper on the wall.
Isaac's favorite color is orange, and Taylor's is blue.
Their painting shirts are my old volleyball practice shirts. Because they are volleyball, they love to wear them but can barely do anything in them because they are so big on them!
We are still working on smiling for the camera.
Those are better smiles!
This was our final masterpiece. Isaac is becoming more artistic and drawing his own pictures. Taylor knows most of his colors and a lot of shapes. He also knows how to spell his name, and I love the way he says it.
This is my cute baby, but not such a baby anymore. He will be 1 in a month and a half. He army crawled for a long time but is finally getting really good at crawling normal. He walks along the couch, but hasn't worked up the courage yet to take any steps without holding on to anything.
While we were painting he just sat here in the doorway, I don't think he thought he could get down that little step. But I didn't mind because he didn't get into our paint. When we were done, we let him out and they all played together, while I made dinner. It was pretty cute. We hung out together after dinner for a few minutes before I had to go Visiting Teaching. We visit a sister who has older kids and I look up to a lot. And we also visit one of my best friends, Maridyn. I love the women in our ward, and I have learned and still learn so much from them!
Finally here I am blogging for the first time in a really long time. I really need to write everything down because I barely remember stuff that happened yesterday.
Which reminds me... As we were reading scriptures yesterday, Taylor was repeating what Robbie said...
Robbie: And behold, also
Taylor: also
Robbie: They have brought
Taylor: brought
Robbie: breastplates
Taylor: breastplates
Robbie: which are large
Taylor: large
Robbie: and they are
Taylor: are
Robbie: of brass
Taylor: of brass
Robbie: and of copper
Taylor: and of quatro, cinco, seis
I busted out laughing, I couldn't help myself. (They like to watch Diego and Dora, and they think they speak Spanish.)
